Our Club Open Day on Saturday April 20th was blessed with glorious sunshine and decent temperatures, so perfect for tennis and pickleball play. Large numbers of juniors and adults came to our Club and really enjoyed trying tennis and pickleball, many for the first time.
Thank you very much to Club coach Michael Cartmell and his assistants Hannah and Ruth for organising such a successful event and for being so welcoming to everyone who came along. And thanks also to Peter Nickson and Priscilla who helped Michael run really fun sessions for the juniors and adult beginners.
And on the Pickleball court there was a steady stream of people of all ages being ably introduced to this fun game by Sharon Phillips & Nick Tinsdeall, and thanks very much to them too.
Club members who were also a great help in welcoming people and talking about the Club were Mary Rosenberg, Chris Joynson, new member Sam Lockwood, Maxine Clark – who also did a fantastic job mowing the grass around the courts – Sandra Eccles and Susan Lucas.
Already we have some new members and we look forward to welcoming them back to our Club and being on court with them.
