Junior Members

As Community Club of the Year 2017 we are committed to extending tennis playing opportunities to juniors from around the area.

Group and coaching sessions have re-started, maximum size of 6 per group.

We have a very active programme of tennis activities for our junior members – coaching (delivered by Eden and Michaela Parkinson of Edentennis), Matchplay, team training, winter box leagues and league teams. We have members from all over the area.

We are also committed to links with local schools including Willow Lane Primary School & Steiner School as well as the Marsh Community Centre. We recognise the value of tennis as offering young people the chance to take exercise, develop skills and social confidence, take part in a competitive activity and make friends.

General Info

The coaching team is fully DBS checked and all coaches have completed First Aid and other relevant courses, as has the Club Welfare Officer Annabel Orr – Tel: 01524 842 890 or 07545 314 750 or by Email . For the Club’s safeguarding policy please click here.

The Club’s junior teams have been successful since they were first entered in the Fylde and Aegon leagues in 2014. The best season was summer 2016 when the U17 Boys A team won the Fylde Division 1 and the U17 Boys B team came top of Division 2 . In 2018 our new girls team won the Fylde U17 league and in 2019 they again won the U17 League and our U14 Boys team also won the Fylde League.

Because of Covid 19 no matches were played in 2020 but in the shorter 2021 match season, our U17 Girls team finished top of their League. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OUR TEAMS & thank you to all the parents for their support. In the 2022 season we have teams in the Fylde and Ribble Leagues.

Recognising Excellence

The Club’s junior programme has been recognised for excellence in a number of ways – by the Club’s achievement of LTA Tennismark when it operated and by the award in 2015 of Lancaster Coach of the Year to Level 4 Club coach Eden Parkinson of Edentennis .

And most particularly by the award of Volunteer of the Year on three separate occasions by Tennis Lancashire to our previous junior organiser Pat Clelland – most recently for 2017.
