Great celebration of Mary’s 90th birthday

It was great to see so many Club members and friends celebrating Mary Rosenberg’s special 90th birthday.  Mary’s contribution to the Club in many ways – including introducing, with Rose Parker, the regular daytime adult social tennis – was warmly thanked.   And her Californian experience of Pickleball was also mentioned, now very popular in our Club due to her, Steve Garland and Susan Lucas

Mary’s playing career continued well into her 80s and she still preferred a Singles match.  What a fantastic achievement and she is a real inspiration – and it was great to see her back on court to rally with Rose and Fang Liu, even though it was a pretty damp day.

Thank you especially to Rose for providing the very naughty chocolate birthday cake, to Maxine Clark for all the wonderful 90th birthday decorations and to Susan for organising the celebration.  And Mary thanked everyone too, enjoying her special day.

And thanks to everyone who attended and helped.
