On Sunday 5th September the round robin stage of the Men’s Singles tournament was held in nice sunshine and good playing conditions at the Club. There were only 6 entrants this year, so no need for two Pools.
There were some excellent contests as the six played each other, with Bernd Schulze and Matt Cross emerging as the top two players and hence finalists.
The final was played, again in nice weather, on Tuesday September 7th and Bernd emerged the winner, so retaining his Club Singles title. VERY well done to both finalists and especially to Bernd. And thank you to Sandra Eccles and Derek Metcalfe for helping with the organisation.
There was no Women’s Singles event this year, but hopefully more entries for both Men’s and Women’s tournament next year.
