Our Club is celebrating the donation from Sofidel UK Ltd of £1300. Sofidel is an Italian multinational company, founded in 1966, producing a range of products including toilet paper, kitchen paper, paper napkins, and handkerchiefs. This their website – Sofidel. The Lancaster office is based in Lansil Way and the recommendation for the donation was made by new Club member Erdem Saatcioglu.
Sofidel asked that the donation be focussed on encouraging junior tennis, so the Committee has agreed that it be spent on new junior racquets, grips to repair existing racquets and a new full-sized table tennis table to replace the broken ¾ size table which is much used during junior holiday camps.
In addition, part of the donation will be used to provide free coaching sessions by Cartmell Academy for pupils at Dallas Road Primary School (following on from the successful coaching programme for pupils at Willow Lane Primary School).
Club Chairman Malcolm Dow said:
” Thank you very much to Erdem and Sofidel. This very generous donation is much appreciated and will be spent on much needed equipment as well as encouraging youngsters from the local area to try tennis and benefit from its sporting and mental health benefits.”
