After two incomplete winter match seasons because of Covid 19, the autumn and winter Lancaster & District League Vets matches went ahead as planned this year. From October 2021 to April 2022 the Club’s two teams have enjoyed lots of matches, with some needing to be re-organised because of rain.
And, after 18 matches and this long season, our A team – the Lancaster Eagles captained by Derek Metcalfe – have won Division One quite comfortably. And the B team – the Lancaster Falcons captained by Andre Coltman, were not far behind in Division One, being narrowly squeezed into 4th position by Windermere.
These are fantastic victories – and well done to both teams. The regular players throughout the winter were Sandra Eccles, Dave Clark, Chris Milburn, Californian Dave, Mark Braithwaite, Danny Welbourne, Steve Garland in addition to Derek and Andre. And Maxine Norman, Kathy Byra and Susan Lucas played in some of the matches.
