Spring has been very wet this year, so we were really lucky that Good Friday dawned with dry and reasonably warm conditions. So 12 Club players joined in the annual Good Friday round robin tournament organised this year by Paddy Maher.
At the semi final stage, after some very good, fun matches at the Pool stage, George Brown and David Novell lost to Christopher Joynson and Paul Darwent in one of the semi finals. And in the other, Sandra Eccles and Jonny Eastham beat Steve Garland and new member Rod Kay. And in closely fought games, Sandra & Jonny beat Paul & Christopher 6-2 in the final to emerge overall winners.
A very enjoyable, social day of tennis ended in one of our ever popular Good Friday BBQs.
