The 2023 summer match season, for our 6 adult and one junior teams, has come to an end and, with decent weather most weeks, not too many matches have had to be re-arranged. Thank you very much for all the hard work of the captains and players, and well done especially to our Kendal Men’s 1st team and Fylde League Men’s team:
Kendal League
Men’s 1st team (Division 2) – captain Simon Hicks – 2nd in the league, promoted to Div 1
Men’s 2nd team (Division 3) – captain Steve Garland – 5th
Mixed doubles team (Division 1) – captain Derek Metcalfe – 6th and relegated to Div 2
Ladies team – captain Sandra Eccles – 5th
Fylde League
Men’s team (Division 7) – captain Andre Coltman – 2nd with exactly the same points as the league winner, promoted to Div 6
Junior U17 team – manager Michaela Parkinson – 5th
Lancaster & District League
Mixed team (Division 1 ) – captain Myra Weir – 4th
and the team also reached the final of the handicap knock out Geoff Seed tournament so will receive the trophy as the runner up team.
And we are now getting ready for the new Fylde Autumn League (captain Derek Metcalfe) as well as the usual Lancaster Winter Vets league where we usually have 2 teams (Eagles – captain Dave Clark – and Falcons).
