Lancaster Tennis Club in Lune Road is celebrating the award of a grant from Tennis Lancashire through its Participation Funding scheme. £1100 has been awarded to fund 12 free coaching sessions for Adult Beginners and Returners as well as 12 free coaching sessions specifically for girls and women who, generally, don’t play as much tennis. These will be provided by Michael Cartmell Academy with Michael as the Club’s lead coach.
In addition there is funding to allow the Club to run a free FamilOpen Day later in the summer and also for some much needed new adult tennis racquets. All of these initiatives will, hopefully, encourage more locals to play and enjoy tennis at this friendly and welcoming Club.
