GOOD NEWS – and thanks a lot to Sharon Phillips our Pickleball Organiser for making the application. We have been successful in securing a £370 grant from the local 3R Charity. Thank you very much to them.
The grant is being used to purchase 2 Pickleball nets so that the Club has a full set of equipment for its Tuesday evening session at Salt Ayre Leisure Centre – which means that we will no longer have to use adapted badminton nets which has not been ideal.
The grant will also pay for a Club Complete Starter Pack: Club Net, 4 club Paddles and 4 balls so that we can also extend our Social Pickleball play to an additional weekly session from 7.30pm to 9pm on Thursdays at Lancaster Royal Grammar School from April 10th.
This new session will allow us to re-open play to new players/members and further increase access to this increasingly popular sport. Whilst we will eventually aim to have 4 Pickleball nets at this venue too in the short term, the school has offered for us to use their badminton nets till we can secure further funding for additional nets.
Any queries about playing Pickleball either on the court at our Club outside or indoors at Salt Ayre Leisure Centre or Lancaster Royal Grammar School to Sharon on slphillips72@gmail.com and give her your mobile telephone number.
